Sleek Rose Gold Blush | Review

Sleek Blush in Rose Gold - £4.49

I've never been a massive fan of blush. I think this may be largely down to the fact that I already have very red cheeks, and I go to a lot of trouble trying to disguise them. However, I had heard many great things about Sleek's blushes; so many great things, in fact, that over the course of a few months, I gradually became more and more tempted to purchase one. Eventually, I bit the bullet and bought Rose Gold by Sleek, a shade which I heard was very flattering for very pale and rosy people like myself.

At first, I found the whole experience very alien. I couldn't quite believe that I was doing this to myself. As you can see from above, the blush looks very vibrant and intimidating in the pan. But despite my initial concerns, this gorgeous blush definitely won me over. The swatch below shows that once applied to the skin, it isn't anywhere near as terrifying.

As can be seen from the swatch, Rose Gold really does what it says on the tin. It's a very pleasant and wearable rosy pink, with gorgeous shimmery (but not glittery) gold undertones. Because of the light reflecting properties of this blush, a highlighter isn't really needed, but it isn't so overpowering so that a highlighter would be too much either! This blush is also very versatile and buildable, so you can go as light or as intense as you want very easily.

In the photos above and below, I have used it quite sparingly, but as you can see it gives your cheeks a gorgeous gold sheen, as well as a natural looking glow. I've also found that the blush is most striking when used without bronzer, although it still works very nicely with bronzer too.

In all, I was very pleased with Sleek's Rose Gold Blush, and it was a perfect, if slightly adventurous way to introduce me into the world of blush. I would totally recommend it to any cool-toned, fair people like me! I'm not sure how it would work for people with other skin tones though, so please don't take my word for it if you're a lot darker than me. I've also heard that this shade in particular is a dupe for the NARS blush in Orgasm, and as that retails for over £20, I consider Sleek's blushes to be a steal, coming in at under a fiver!
